Syngenta has suffered the halting of production and sale of pesticide products in Brazil for the second time in a month. The national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, has seized 150,000 litres of the fungicide, Priori Xtra (azoxystrobin + cyproconazole), following an inspection at the company's plant in Paulinia, Sao Paulo state. "The samples that were taken were produced with a pre-mixture of unregistered cyproconazole," the agency says. The unauthorised active ingredient makes up 15-20% of the Priori Xtra samples. The rest was formulated outside Brazil, it adds.
