Argentina is set to demand a 48-hour notice period prior to aerial and ground pesticide spraying,national media report.The Argentine lower house,the chamber of deputies,has unanimously sanctioned the revision of agrochemical law 6599.The amendment passes to the Senate for full approval.The newly proposed text of article 8 states that any person deciding to spray pesticides by air or land should take appropriate precautions to prevent harm to others and/or the environment.Prior to any application that falls within the safety distances set by the enforcement authority,applicators must notify their intention to nearby neighbours,local governments,rural police departments and rural schools 48 hours prior to spraying.
