Grower groups in the western US have called on the EPA to draw up a clear process for developing and revising county bulletins that impose restrictions on pesticides to protect endangered species. More than 20 grower groups, led by the Washington Friends of Farms and Forests, submitted comments in September on an industry petition calling for more transparent procedures for pesticide use restrictions under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The EPA invited comment on the petition in July (Agrow No 598, p 17).
