Monsanto has denied allegations that its executives agreed to fix prices of genetically modified seed with representatives of the seed company,Pioneer Hi-Bred International,in the mid-to late-1990s.The allegations were made in an article in the New York Times,which cites interviews with former executives from both companies along with court papers and other documents.The newspaper claims that Monsanto and Pioneer executives discussed prices,swapped profit projections and talked about co-operating to keep prices of GM seed artificially high.If the aim of these discussions was to limit price competition,the companies violated anti-trust laws,the article states.
