China's agrochemical exports fell by 5.6% in value terms during the fourth quarter of 2009 to $320 million, compared with the same period in 2008. However, volumes were up by 29% to 120,000 tonnes. The data were published by the Chinese Customs Department through the national newspaper, the AgriGoods Herald. The average export price during the period was $2,632/tonne. Imports for the period fell in both volume and value terms to 8,000 tonnes (-15.6%) and $56.4 million (-10.3%), respectively. The value of exports fell in each quarter in 2009. Third-quarter exports were valued at $310 million, down 34.4% (Agrow No 582, p 25).
