Increased sales in Australia, New Zealand and Asia could not offset declines in Nufarm's other regional markets in the year ended July 31st 2011. The company recorded a 3.9% drop in revenues to Aus$2,084 million (US$2,134 million at the current rate) in fiscal 2011. That followed a 19% sales decline in fiscal 2010 (Agrow No 601, pp 3-4). Nufarm's results continued to be affected by the glyphosate herbicide sector, which remained "very competitive", the company points out. Nufarm's glyphosate sales were down by 30%, while sales of other products rose by 6%.
