The nominal value of the global agrochemical market at the distributor level rose by 5.9% to 26,635 million in 2003,according to preliminary estimates by UK consultants Phillips McDougall.However,the increase was due to the weakening of the US dollar against virtually all major currencies.After taking currency effects and inflation into account,the global market fell by 1.6%.While all of the major regional markets recorded nominal US dollar growth in 2003,only Latin America saw any expansion in real terms,with a 3.3% increase.
