The USMC is predicting a continuing expansion of Class 1 small UAS (SUAS) across service elements. Speaking at the AUVSI Xponential event in Dallas in May, Lt Col Noah Spataro, USMC requirements officer for UAS, noted that the service's small programme of record platforms include the RQ-12A Wasp (143 authorised), RQ-11B Raven (178 authorised) and RQ-20A Puma (95 authorised). Additionally, the marines plan to increase Wasp and Puma quantities under the Force 2025 structural plan.
