From oil rigs to airliners to accident scenes, inspection and monitoring work by UAVs is gradually gaining in popularity in Europe. In April, leading UAV inspection service provider Cyberhawk announced that a client - one of the largest North Sea oil and gas exploration and production companies - had analysed two years' worth of its inspection data and concluded that the company conducted rig inspections 20 times faster and at 50% of the cost of conventional inspection methods.
