This CEN standard has been revised recently. Based on verified market needs, the responsible CEN/TC161 and TC !62/NG0have introduced a free choice of any combination of levels 1 and 2 between the 4 mostsafety relevant properties of the boot; these are upper height-resistance to impactabrasion - impactcutresistance - transverse rigidity. The claimed performance levels (I or 2) must be marked on the boot beneath the pictogram. There are further optional requirements for impact protection, water resistance, resistance to fuel oil, slip resistance, further optional requirements for impact protection, water resistance, resistance to fuel oil, slip resistance, water vapour permeability and insole water absorption and drying.
