The US agrochemical company,American Vanguard (Amvac-Los Angeles,California),has proposed a legal settlement with a number of Nicaraguans claiming adverse health effects from exposure to the nematicide,dibromochloropropane (DBCP),in the 1970s.If the proposed settlement receives US court approval,it will end Amvac's involvement in the case,the company says.However,until court approval is granted,Amvac cannot comment further on the case,the company told Agrow.
