Aichi Steel of Japan says it will resume production by the end of March at its bar mill No.2, almostthree months after an explosion at a reheating furnace.The target date is 29 March, but vice-president Masao Ukai this week said it may be possible toshorten the restart schedule for some operations. The Chita mini-mill produces machine-use, freecutting,spring, bearing, tool and high-tensile steels, as well as round, square and flat bars for theautomobile and machinery industries.
