Keeping van and light commercial vehicle operators' fleets moving in all driving conditions is essential - and never more so in the current climate. The most recent addition to Yokohama's van range, the BluEarth-Van RY55, is its most long-lasting, tough and efficient van tyre, the manufacturer claims. Developed with a triple polymer and silica compound, the tyre is capable of superb long mileage with high durability owing to its tough tread properties, profile design and construction. The tyre also benefits from fuel saving characteristics as well as enhanced wet grip for wet road conditions and is available in sizes 14-17." The RY55 tyre has recently been selected by a number of businesses including Rushlift Ltd for its 450 strong fleet of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) based at Gatwick Airport and specialist aviation logistics company, Comet Car Hire (CCH) for its fleet of Mercedes vans, minibuses and people carriers. Yokohama states the recent uptake of the tyre in the fleet market is testament to the RY55's durability, performance and longevity. Looking forward to later in the year, especially in various European markets, Yokohama's WY01 winter tyre, featuring the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake mark, allows fleets to continue to operate in the most treacherous of winter conditions. Also available in 14-17" sizes, this tyre has been optimised for wet braking and handling, delivering excellent performance on both snow and ice with excellent durability.
