摘要

The friction and abrasive wear behavior of WC-12Co and Cr3C2-25NiCr HVOF sprayed coatings were investigated. The coefficient of friction and abrasive wear rate decreased with increasing sliding velocity, although the magnitude of decrease was different. The operating condition, mechanisms of wear, microstructure and the extent of oxidation influenced friction and wear behavior of the coatings. The wear maps were used to identify transition in abrasive wear rates and severity of oxidative wear. The different wear regimes exhibited by the coatings were attributed to change in relative contribution of mechanical wear and oxidative wear with respect to operating variables. Severity of contact can be used to identify transitions in failure modes from plastic deformation to brittle fracture.
