France - Premium refrigerated truck body and trailer builder for distribution operations, Chereau of Avranches, France has reported a record performance for 2016 with a turnover of EUR199m. This figure has doubled in just six years since 2010. Last year turnover increased 16% from EUR172m, said Christophe Danton, responsible for marketing at Chereau, when speaking at its refrigeration panel and body production plant in Ducey last month. Semi-trailers remain Chereau's core business accounting for between 75 and 80% of the vehicles built each year. France remains Chereau core market with a 46% market share in the refrigerated semi-trailer segment, Danton stated. France sales have increased from EUR65m to EUR105m over the six year period, Danton continued, and export sales have grown disproportionately and at an average annual growth rate of 22.2% over the same period - last year exports accounted for 43% of sales turnover, Danton added. Chereau works with distributors and dealers in many European countries, but in the four largest refrigeration trailer export markets of Spain, Germany, Italy and the UK it has its own subsidiaries; these are Chereau Espana; Chereau Gmbh; Chereau Italia and Chereau UK.
