Germany - Mahle GmbH of Stuttgart revealed at the IAA exhibition its current research and development work is on integration of fuel cells for heavy-duty commercial vehicle applications. Predicting considerable growth in the use of fuel cell technology, Mahle states it recognises the challenges which need to be overcome to improve fuel cell life, efficiency and durability - especially where heavy loads and long distances are involved - and make them suitable for heavy-duty commercial vehicle applications.
