The U.K. should strive for 100% full fiber, gigabit capable broadband by the year 2033, concludes the National Infrastructure Report, which states that the future calls for a full fiber solution for U.K.'s digital economy to thrive. The 163-page report - which covers a range of concerns, such as infrastructure and recycling - calls on the U.K. government to support investment in full fiber networks and to subsidize rollout plans for hard to reach rural areas. "The Commission's judgement is that the government should act now to deliver full fibre across the country ... 86% of people agreed that all parts of the U.K. should have equal access to broadband." it said.
