Primary U.S. propane inventories the week ended June 21 grew another 1.4 MMbbl and stretched to 75.9 MMbbl, according to the latest This Week in Petroleum report by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). The 1.9% gain lifted stocks to a level 9.5 MMbbl, or 14.3%, greater than the five-year average for the same time of year and 17.5 MMbbl, or 30%, above last year. Midwest volumes climbed 1.5 MMbbl and the Gulf Coast 600,000 bbl, while those in the Rocky Mountain/West Coast region increased slightly, but by so slim a margin they remained essentially unchanged. East Coast supplies decreased 700,000 bbl. Propylene non-fuel-use inventories represented 6.5% of total stocks, edging down from 6.6% the previous week. EIA data shows primary inventories rising nearly 7.6 MMbbl from the end of May through June 21. The agency reported the nation ended the week with 95.0 days of propane supply, up from 91.7 days a week earlier and from 83.3 days a year ago.
