But some production levels are historically high. 2018 so far has been a strong year in all of the key markets Knibb, Gormezano and Partners (KGP) tracks in its Commercial Vehicle and Non-Road Engine Forecasts. Over 7m vehicles and pieces of equipment are produced annually worldwide, with growth this year expected to reach 4% or around 300,000 additional units across both Commercial Vehicle and Non-Road Mobile Machinery Markets. The vast majority of production in these segments are diesel powered, although battery electric vehicles volumes are growing strongly, with natural gas increasing its share again following a price driven drop in demand in 2015, with hybrid remaining a small share of the market, with limited growth to date.
