Welcome to the first issue of the 2019 edition of Drug Delivery Letters. This issue shows many interesting developments in the drug delivery and the formulation design that aim to target the specific sites, present alternative manufacturing processes, develop drug-loaded carriers and review the nanocarrier-assisted anticancer drug delivery and validation of transdennal caffeine delivery. These articles showcase the variety of research that continues in the drug delivery field. In this edition, Kumar et al. reviewed the application of polymeric nanocarriers for treating colon cancer. Ghosh et al. developed osmotic controlled aceclofenac tablets to ameliorate rheumatoid arthritis. Farner et al. reviewed the assay system to evaluate caffeine penetration from topical formulation into the skin. Jain et al. prepared concanavalin-A conjugated gastro-retentive microspheres of polymethylmethacrylate and polyethylene oxide containing berberine for the treatment of H. pylori infection. Sharma and Misra developed the graphene-ketoconazole nanohybrid for potent efficacy towards dermatophytes in a controlled manner. Jain et al. attempted to develop a dual component tablet containing a sustained release floating layer of ba-clofen and delayed release microspheres of rabeprazole for the effective treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease.
