Global jet fuel demand headed into the end of 2016 on very strong foot- ing, climbing by more than 7% above year-rates to some 3.4 million barrels per day. Industrialized nations accounted for all the growth as sharply higher air traffic fueled a gain of nearly 10% in November. The US had the biggest impact in volumetric terms, while European consumption also took off late last year. The growth rate in Canadian jet fuel usage more than tri- pled to 17% versus the third-quarter. Japan was the only laggard in the group with growth of less than 1%.
