摘要

The objective of the study was to estimate gene effects in a varietal cross of cowpea by generation mean analysis. Scaling tests indicated presence of epistasis in the inheritance of characters studied. Joint scaling test revealed the presence of epistasis for pod length, pods per plant, pods per cluster, days to flowering, days to maturity, 100-seed weight and seed yield per plant. Besides digenic epistasis, higher order interactions were detected for 100-seed weight.
