摘要

Differences in the species composition, numbers, and feeding of larval fish of the semiclosed water area of Sevastopol Bay in 1998 and 1999 are revealed. The basic causes of these differences are fluctuations of hydrological and hydrochemical indices. In case of extreme discharges of river waters and the related intensive freshening of the bay waters, ichthyoplankton is characterized by low numbers of the eggs and larvae of fish as well as of their food sources. Upon the advection of seawater to thebay promoting the arrival of pelagic fish for spawning, the numbers of eggs and larvae increase. The diversity and numbers of food zooplanktonic organisms also increase. As a result, the proportion of larvae with empty intestines decreases twofold.
