摘要

Bagher Larijani, Medical Ethics and History of Medicine Research Center, Endocrinologyemrc@tums.ac.ir and Metabolism Clinical Sciences Institute, Tehran University of the Medical Sciences Organ transplantation is known as a way to save human lives and improve the quality of life from long ago. The big difference between organ transplantation and other medical intervention is in the source of materials. Organs are not things that industry can built and sell, but mostly they are parts of a human body with special dignity in different cultures. For this reason, while procuring organs from cadavers arouses lots of emotions, living organ transplantation is one of the most challenging issues in medical ethics. The financial relationship between donors and recipients is still a major challenge around the world.
