This study is to determine whether there are differences in the perceptions of graduates and employers on the readiness for working life among engineering graduates from a local university in Malaysia. Data for this study were collected through questionnaires sent via email to 150 students and 80 employers in industry and were analyzed using SPSS 20. Reliability questionnaire was tested using Cronbach's Alpha method indicating the reliability of 0.947. Factor analysis and Mann-Whitney test were used to answer the research questions. The study found that there is a difference between the perception of graduates and employers on the level of preparedness for the workplace. It was found that the perception of the employer to prepare students for employment is better than the perception of the students themselves.
