The physical environment of the work place plays an important role in shaping social climate, image of the workplace, job satisfaction, and turnover rates. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between job satisfaction and physical working environment among community rehabilitation program professionals. A total of 108 participants of community rehabilitation program professionals on the Eastern Shore of Maryland completed the Environment of Job Satisfaction Survey. The rehabilitation professionals reported a high degree of job satisfaction that correlated significantly with all six physical environmental factors. Gender differences concerning satisfaction with these factors were also found. Recommendations for community rehabilitation agencies are provided.
