Lectotypes have been designated for Gentiana recurvata C. B. Clarke, G. sikkimensis C. B. Clarke and G. stylophora C. B. Clarke. The choice of lectotypes are discussed and photograph of each type has also been provided.As a part of our on-going project "Biodiversity Assessment through Long-Term Monitoring Plots in Indian Himalayan Landscape" in Sikkim Himalaya, we came across three live plants of the genus Gentiana viz. Gentiana recurvata C. B. Clarke, G. sikkimensis C. B. Clarke and G. stylophora C. B. Clarke. Scrutiny of literature revealed that all the species are restricted to eastern Himalaya and no types were cited explicitly in the protologue. Thus, the lectotypes for these names have been proposed here for anunambiguous use.
