The century old-disease Huanglongbing (HLB) or "yellow dragon disease," commonly known as citrus greening disease, is now the most important threat to citriculture worldwide. The significant threat posed by this disease also extends to all cultivatedcitrus and their ornamental relatives grown in nurseries. This has led to strict Federal and state regulations to minimize the risk of movement of both the insect vector and the associated pathogen. Here we summarize basic information about the HLB disease complex to aid in disease prevention and management efforts in plant nurseries.
