Vegetation of the Caspian Lowland (Russia) within the desert zone is characterized by important distinctions which include structure of zonality, horizontal structure of vegetation, composition of differential species, composition and distribution of edaphic variants of plant communities. These distinctions correspond to criteria for dividing a province into subprovinces and allow to distinguish the Caspian subprovince. Its eastern boundary is the right shore of the river Ural.
