The International Strabismological Association (ISA) was asked to organize a one-hour symposium on eye movement disorders at the XII International Orthoptic Congress (IOC), which was held in Toronto, Canada, in June 2012. I was honored to be asked by the ISA to organize and chair this symposium. The subject was eye movement disorders in patients with neurologic diseases. The goals of the presentations were to present clinical pearls in assessing eye movement problems in these patients, including differentiating supra-nuclear from infranuclear disorders, and to discuss nonsurgical and surgical management of several neurologic conditions that commonly affect eye movements.
