摘要

High performance and multi-purpose SmartCard was realized and various service developments being expected. "Sapphire" is a JavaCard which is the multiapplication environment on SmartCard implemented with a mass flash memory (1MB). But there is a problem that the access speed to the memory decreases in the case of frequently being updated to data, because flash memory isn't fully bit-alterable. In this paper, we report on the speed-up and optimization technology of flash memory management on SmartCard by adaptation of the characteristic of Java Card.
