The impact strength of spheroidal graphite cast iron and cast steel was compared aiming to obtain a basic finding of material evaluations of parts which received the impact load. The level of tensile strength is arranged to facilitate thecomparison of materials by using Charpy impact test of making to instrumentation examination for impact examination and the level of the shape of notched bar has been changed. As a result, the following were clarified. In spheroidal graphite cast iron, aabsorbed energy and the maximum load have decreased rapidly with an increase in hardness and the stress concentration by mostly of the absorbed energy being used for the crack to the maximum load to occur. On the other hand, absorbed energies were usedfor both the occurrence of the crack and the spread of the crack and effect of hardness and the stress concentration was smaller than that of the spheroidal graphite cast iron in cast steel. Energy until generating of FCD450 the crack is equal to that ofcast steel and it was clarified to obtain an enough impact strength and the deformability as parts by doing the design by which the stress concentration was avoided
