We are excited about taking up the reins of the Visual Anthropology section of American Anthropologist. John and Naomi Bishop have done a remarkable job editing this section of the journal, and we plan to continue many of their innovations, such as publishing film reviews, reviews of film festivals, and interviews with visual anthropologists and ethnographic filmmakers.We will continue their practice of soliciting and publishing review essays, and we also plan to publish book reviews in visual anthropology, state-of-thefield essays, photo essays (taking advantage of AA’s online capabilities), and other contributions that discuss emergent trends in the subfield.
