摘要

PAGE was used to study mutant isozymes in 2 populations of P. sylvestris from areas contaminated by industrial air pollutants, compared to a control population in an uncontaminated area. Rates of spontaneous mutagenesis increased under polluted airconditions. Total frequencies of mutations and mutation-like events per locus calculated for 3 groups of abnormal isozymes were 7.2 X 10-4 and 4.6 X 10-3 in polluted populations compared to 1.6 X 10-4 in the controls.
