摘要

Performance of an air-supply system is analyzed using the exergy balance. This approach enables us to account for different losses and to estimate performance of the system as a whole. An analysis of the system operation with maximal losses in the system components demonstrates that when the performance indices have their most unfavorable values, the system efficiency may be from 20 to 30%, i.e., the specific power consumption increases by a factor of 3 to 4 as compared to that under nameplate operating conditions. Improving the efficiency of air-supply systems can be achieved using a comprehensive set of measure aimed at decreasing main losses in the cooling and control systems, hydraulic losses and leakages. This will allow us to make the system efficiency as high as 65-70%.
