As we enter the last quarter of 2012, AME’s Focus for this month provides an update of our forecast for this year’s market balance, as well as the impact of the Chinese aluminium industry. On the assumption of weak market demand and a gradual recovery of the global economy, AME at the beginning of the year expected a market surplus of as much as 1Mt in both 2012 and 2013.
