Polyvinyl chloride(PVC)prices continue to bounce back from their May lows,supported by planned and unplanned outages along the vinyls chain and the upward trend in ethylene pricing,say analysts at IHS Markit.They expect the market to remain firm in August amid snug regional supply/demand balances.China's firm domestic PVC market is driving Asian prices,says the IHS Markit Global Vinyls-Monthly Market Report."The relatively tight market conditions from May to September,accompanied by demand recovery in some major Asian countries,have supported prices at higher levels,"says the report."Although resin supply gradually recovered in July,another wave of scheduled maintenance is approaching in the next two months."Spot pipe-grade suspension PVC(S-PVC)averaged $790/metric ton,cost and freight(CFR)Asia/Pacific,in July,up from $700 in June and $620 in May.
