As part of Germany s Financial Cooperation with emerging nations, Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW) is commissioned by the German Government to finance investment and project-linked advisory services for the development of social and economic infrastructure, industry, and environment protection and resource conservation. KfW assesses project eligibility against development policy criteria, assists partner countries with implementation and evaluates the impact of project efforts. Sustainability isgiven a variety of -often very broad - definitions. To cite just two examples.
