Numerous reports have described the syntheses and structures of metal-rich compounds. In recent years, research activities in this field have been very successful, especially in the synthesis of heteropolyacids and clusters of main-group and transition-metal elements. Examples include Na_(48)[HxMo_(368)O_(1032)(H_2O)_(240)(SO_4)_(46)] (x ≈ 16), [Pd_(145)(CO)_(60)(PEt_3)_(30)], and [Ga_(84){N(SiMe_3)_2}_(20)Li_6Br_2(thf)_(20)].
