Caracas—Venezuela’s state-owned PDVSA will cut investment and other spending this year to reflect the 45% decline in revenue generated by crude exports, sources said Friday. The magnitude of the cuts to PDVSA’s budgets will depend on financing agreements with China and on the negotiations with various OPEC countries that President Nicolas Maduro will undertake on his current overseas trip, a high-level source in PDVSA’s exploration and production department said. “The low price of Venezuelan crude obliges us to review the 2015 budgets, which still haven’t been approved, although we have been told to cut,” the source said.
