The brachyuran crab fauna from six stations of Kali estuary mangroves, Karwar was surveyed during 2019-2020. All 30 species of brachyuran crabs belonging to 24 genera representing 8 families were recorded; crabs belonging to the family Grapsidae, Ocypodidae, Portunidae is the most dominant group represented by a total of 21 species. Out of these, three species are considered as commercial crabs and they are Scylla serrate, Thalamita cranata, Charybdis annulate. Scylla species like Scylla serrata, S.tranquebarica are caught in large quantities from Karwar mangroves; their checklist and distributions are given.
