— The deviation of the national highway n°10 between Lisle and Pezou in Loir-et Cher (France) participates at the continuity of service between Vend?me and Chartres. The work took place from 2004 to 2008 - opens to users in December 2008. The road bypasses the towns of Lisle and Pezou by the North West, and passes successively on colluvium of the Loir valley, the flint clay and the deposits of the Eocene on the plateau. These surface formations are topped by chalky-limestone bedrock dating from the Turonian known to be particularly karstified. Regular and critical geological hazards during project and eathworks periods, lead the DREAL Centre to initiate a general survey about geological and hydrogeological hazards of the road. The Laboratoire des Ponts et Chaussées de Blois (which belongs to the CETE Normandie Centre) did the work. Final report was sent to the management of interdepartmental roads direction northwest (DIR NO), specially for its operations center in Vend?me, which manages the infrastructure. The analysis, by the CETE, of various geotechnical and hydrogeological reports on the study area, shows that it presents an important structural fracturing which leads to flows of groundwater and surface reliefs. The road infrastructure, partly overlapping these structural discontinuities, thus cross several areas that may be favorable to geotechnical events such as subsidence, karstic collapses or slope failures. Following this analysis based on aerial photography and a systematic field survey, areas of specific hazards were identified and specific management recommendations have been defined.
