In February 2020, the French Health Products Agency (ANSM) issued a warning concerning a risk of cancer associated with mecasermin (Increlex0), a growth factor used in the treatment of growth failure (1). Since its market introduction, an increasing number of cases of benign and malignant tumours have been observed in children and adolescents treated with mecasermin, compared to the expected incidence in this population of patients.These include various types of malignant tumours, some of which are rare malignant tumours not usually seen in children (1).
