Innovation and technology misunderstandings: Without innovation and dedication to pushing boundaries, the solar industry would wither and die. A lack of appreciation of the skill, time, and desire it takes to eke out greater efficiencies is not uncommon, and the route to successful commercialization is rarely straightforward. It is important to remember that all technology innovation begins as an idea to solve a problem, to make life easier, to expand horizons, and/or to inspire. Even the most banal products at one point faced market reluctance and resistance. At one time, indoor toilets were thought of as a frivolous luxury, for example. All technology requires time, effort and patience to develop.
