Despite the downward trend seen in most steel markets due to unstable economic situation, demand remains rather strong in Iraq, one of the largest rebar importers, because many large construction projects are underway in the country. Now when Turkish suppliers of longs have to cut their prices down, for there are practically no deals in both export and domestic markets, it is only Iraq that is still supporting them booking small lots.
