The Platts Australian alumina daily assessment fell $2.50/mt on Feb. 3 to $302.50/mt FOB in a well-supplied market. A 30,000-mt cargo traded on Feb. 2 at $302/mt FOB Bunbury/ Kwinana, Western Australia, cash against copy documents, for shipment in the second-half of February. Platts added 50 cents/mt to convert the trade to 30 days credit. After news of the trade, a number of producer and consumer sources indicated the tradable value at $302/mt FOB Australia, cash basis, for alumina cargoes aligning to Platts methodology.
