Tibet Summit Industry Co., Ltd. (600338), a Sino-forelgn invested motorcycle maker, issued an announcement on March 23 that it planned to spend 160 million yuan in acquiring part of the assets of the zinc smelter and 51 percent of the stocks of the indium factory of Western Mining Co., Ltd. If the acquisition was realized, its mainstream business will be shifted from motorcycle manufacturing to nonferrous metals smelting, recycling and selling. The zinc smelter and indium factory concerned both lie in the northwest of Ganhe Industry Zone, Huangzhong County of Qinghai Province. The zinc smelter has two production lines, one with a capacity of 10,000tpy and the other 30,000tpy. But the actual capacity of the two lines is only 33,000tpy of zinc ingot, because when designing the latter one, one-third of roasting capacity was missed.
