摘要

We report a case of stage IV advanced gastric cancer successfully treated by surgery combined with intra-arterial chemotherapy. A 55-year-old woman was admitted with complaints of mid-epigastric discomfort, bloody stool and weight loss for 6 months. Physical examination showed mild tenderness in the mid-epigastric regions. A stony hard mass was palpated on digital examination at pouch of Douglas. Gastroscopy showed a large ulcerating mass in the greater curvature of the stomach. Barium meal showed a fistulous tract between the stomach and splenic flexure of the colon. Enhanced spiral computed tomography scan of the abdomen showed a large necrotic mass located between the stomach and splenic flexure, metastases in segment VI of the liver was also shown (Fig. 1). The patient was proved to have developed hepatic and pelvic metastases by intraoperative frozen section.
