A field experiment was conducted during autumn-winter season of 1997 at Horticulture Farm, SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner. The treatments comprised of four level each of GA_3 (50, 100, 150 and 200 ppm) and NAA (25, 50, 75 and 100 ppm) along with control. Two successive sprays were made at 35 and 45 days after transplanting. The study revealed that spray of GA_3 and NAA significantly influenced the over all performance of brinjal over control. The maximum plant height (50.23 cm) and no. of branches/plant (15.35) was recorded with spray of 50 ppm NAA. Whereas, the maximum plant spread (1.2007 m~2) and fruit size (6.39 cm) was recorded with spray of 150 ppm GA_3. However, maximum leaf area (1333.92 cm~2), no. of fruits/plant (23.60), fruit weight (86.74 g) and yield/ha (568.62 qt) was recorded with spray of 100 ppm GA_3 followed by spray of 50 ppm NAA. Higher concentrations of GA_3 and NAA decreased the growth and yield. The investigation suggested that two sprays of GA_3 (100 ppm) at 35 and 45 days after transplanting, 47.54 per cent more yield can be obtained over control.
