摘要

A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of five weed control measures and four levels of phosphorus. The results showed that all the weed control measures significantly reduced weed population, dry matter yield of weeds and phosphorus depletion by weeds in comparison to unweeded control. Preemergence application of pendimethalin at 1.0 kg ha~(-1) supplemented with hand weeding resulted in the maximum reduction in weed dry matter and weed population. The dry matter, plant height, branchesper plant, phosphorus content and its uptake by crop increased significantly under all the weed control measures as compared to unweeded control. Application of phosphorus significantly increased the plant height upto 20 kg P_2O_5 ha~(-1) whereas, the number of branches per plant, dry matter accumulation, phosphorus content and its uptake by crop upto 40 kg P_2O_5 ha~(-1).
